Stephen Narsoo is an ‘datapreneur’. He believes that the epicentre of the fourth industrial revolution is data. His passion lies is using data to understand human, social and economic behaviour. He believes that data can be used as a force for good in the world. His expertise lies in data patterning, the ability to see patterns in data using various analytical tools. His introduction into the field of data science was urban planning, where he studied long-term economic, social and spatial trends occurring across global cities.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from University California Los Angeles (UCLA), where he focused on econometrics and a BSc in Urban Development from the University of the Witwatersrand, with a specialisation in Applied Maths. His multi-disciplinary expertise spans across; product conceptualization and development, data analytics, idea generation and relentless tinkering.
He believes that data should be used to empower everyone and not just the lucky few. He is a campaigner for data equality through empowerment and enhancing access which he believes will unlock greater human creativity and innovation.
